CQD Teeth Whitening

Is it Safe?

Yes teeth whitening is a safe procedure and does not harm your teeth. You may however experience some short term sensitivity while you are mid treatment. Your dentist can advise you on how to manage this effectively.

Is it suitable for everyone?

Teeth whitening may not be suitable for everyone. Your dentist may not advise it if you have very sensitive or worn down teeth, gum disease or any type of “false tooth” such as crowns or bridge work, veneers, dentures or implants.

How long does it last for?

The effects of whitening are thought to last up to three years. However, this will vary from person to person. The effect is less likely to last as long if you smoke, or eat or drink products that can stain your teeth.

What does it involve?

First your dentist will take an impressions of your teeth to have custom made trays made for home use. You will return to the surgery to have these fitted where we will provide you with your own whitening kit and written instructions. The trays can be worn at a time that suits you, either during the day or overnight. We will review you every 2 weeks until we reach a shade that you are happy with. The whole process usually takes 4-6 weeks however this will vary from person to person.
